Laura Langman reunited with gold medal
New Zealand netballer Laura Langman has been reunited with her 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medal, stolen in a burglary just over a year ago. The medal was found by a carpenter cleaning a place in an Auckland state house last week. Laura said she was "absolutely ecstatic" at the news the medal had been recovered. It sported a few marks as the thief had apparently tried to scratch the medal to see if it was real gold. Laura's Tamahere home, nine kilometres south east of Hamilton, was burgled in February last year. Burglary squad Sergeant Bruce Bogan said a 27-year-old Hamilton man was arrested in November last year after the recovery of Laura's two bedside drawers. The man is defending the various charges, including burglary.

Swimming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

As you may have noticed today I received a certificate for swimming. I have been swimming for 5 years, I started when my cousin came down from Auckland she had been doing swimming for a number of years now and I didn't have anything to do in the afternoons so I joined her. I turned out to be quite good, so I went into the waikato juniors competition, I came 4th in breastroke 5th in freestyle and 7th in backstroke. My favourite stroke is obviously breaststroke. I loved swimming for a while I even got medals for the club I was on yop at swimming being in clubs like ace and fairfield, but then it got really boring just going backwards and forwards, up and down the lenth, it can get quite boring after a while so I decided to quit last year. I never went back to swimming and I really regret it since I am quite good but I dont want to go back to the boring backwards and forwards of it all. Today at school we went to the science roadshow it was so much fun and we learnt a lot. We had so really great exibits (even though they really really not easy to get) it was really fun. I loved guessing the amount of m&ms in the jar I love m&ms.

Missing Aussie tourist found, being treated at hospital
An Australian tourist who went missing in the Lake Tekapo area on Saturday night was being "assessed and treated" at Christchurch Hospital this afternoon. John Robert McNicol, 66, was last seen leaving a wedding reception in the central South Island town around 11.30pm on Saturday. Senior Constable Brent Swanson of Lake Tekapo Police said Mr McNicol had "become a little confused and disoriented" and had driven to Christchurch after the wedding. Mr McNicol had been drinking at the wedding, but it was not known if he had driven to Christchurch non-stop immediately afterwards, or if he had taken a break whilst driving. Mr Swanson was unable to say what Mr McNicol was being treated for, but said it was not life-threatening.

Speed Chess

How your ear works!!!! :)

The outer ear collects the sounds and comes though a long tube called the ear cannel. The middle ear has a long stretched out skinhich is abnormous (misshaped) called the ear drum which vibrates. The inner ear has three small bones that are like dominoes and they hit each other and then goes to the coclear. The coclear has liquid and little hairs/cells which moves everywhere then its sends though nerves to get to the brain and tells you someones said to you.The reason for this posts was so that some of the boys in our class dont know how to use their ears so I thought maybe it was because they didnt actually know who it works so now they have no reason to not listen to Mr Woody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0 your welcome boys!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Marc Chagall

This is Marc Chagall (in the middle) a painting called "village" (on the left) and another one called "little pink parlour" (on the right). I love Marc's way of painting because of the childish but also very high quality. Last year in art I learnt about Marc Chagall and his style and colours that he uses in his paintings. I think marc chagall will be my artist to study and copy his style to complete a self portraite.

Woman saves her three children from Hamilton house fire

A mother saved her three young children from a burning house in south Hamilton this morning.
The mother was bathing her one- and three-year-old children, and a three-month-old baby was sleeping in a cot in another room, when the fire started about 11am.
She got the two children out of the bath and noticed smoke coming out from under one of the children's beds as she went to her room to dress.
"Grabbing the three-month-old and moving him to the lounge of the house, the woman tried to extinguish the fire with a bucket of water but by then it had become too involved.
The mother suffered singed hair and a small burn on her neck, and was taken with her children to Waikato Hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation.
The fire did not appear to be suspicious, although fire service investigators were investigating the cause.

It has taken just 21 minutes for firefighters to find a woman trapped upside down in her car, who was unsure where she was.They were alerted at 9:30 this morning by a frantic friend who had received a call from the woman saying she had run off the road somewhere between Opotiki and Palmerston North."The fire crews that responded from Rotorua had their sirens continually sounding and we just remained on the phone with her until she could hear the sirens - and we could actually hear them in the background as well."Mr Phillips says the woman's car had crossed the centre line and gone off the road. She is receiving treatment for a shoulder injury.

CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On sunday we are going to camp it is going to be sooooo much fun. I think my favourite part will be overnight !!!!!! Tell me what you think your favourite part is going to be!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Statistical Investigation

In class we are learning about statistical investigations, me, pinky and midnight baloney are doing a invetsigation on what people eat at the canteen and what can we do to stop people from eating all those fatty foods? We decided to survey people outside the canteen about what they bought turns out that no body buys the healthy food and everyone is buying softdrinks!!!!!! We are going to do something about this after camp. I will tell you about it when we get back!!!! :)

Up to four men broke into a Palmerston North house last night and assaulted the woman living there.The 18-year-old victim suffered cuts and bruises but did not need hospital treatment.
Police said"We have some suspects but I cannot comment on what their relationship was with her."Police were keen to hear from anyone who saw a silver Nissan Skyline in the area between 10pm and 11pm.Scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0

You know the whole thing about Chris brown and Rhianna. Well I have heard that there back together after all that!!!!!!!! Isn't that weird I mean she got beaten senseless and will go out with him again I find that bizarre!!!!! Personally I wouldnt get back together with someone who made me unconcious what was she thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less han three weeks after the attack they met in a secret place in los angeles!!!!!!!!
